Plot: Red and Dalton enter the lodge in the annual Possum Lake sausage carnival, competing against Caribou Lodge. Dalton acquires the sausage casing from an experimental farm, and they pack it with mystery meat, which eventually causes Red to lose his appetite for sausages. Transportation to the contest site proves to be a problem, and once at the intended location, it is placed on a bunch of grills lined end to end. Even worse, the sausage casing proves not to be as sterile as the men had hoped, and the sausage casing swells up like a balloon. Then Dalton pokes it with a fork and it goes off. And as usual, Possum Lodge ends up creamed in the competition by Caribou Lodge.

  • Similar to The Hydrogen Project, the end result of Possum Lodge's entry in the sausage contest is compared to the Hindenburg disaster. Dalton even says, "Oh, the humanity."
  • Similar to The Network Deal and Swiss It Up, Kelly asks Red to make changes to the show, which don't appear to go over well with him.
