Plot: Red wants to make a real estate investment on a piece of land sold by Fuzzy Norton down by the Mercury Creek bridge, but Harold insists that it is worthless, that it's basically a sinkhole. Red plans to resort to expropriation, involving the government wanting to buy the land as well. Red decides to buy the land for a highway. The land costs 400 bucks, which Red can't pay alone, so he gets 85 members to chip in five bucks apiece. Red succeeds in getting the deed to the land, but Harold insists that there will be no highway, and Red will be sued. Red is unconcerned, however, as he gave them their money back. If he decides to sell the land, the profit will be his. He had to buy the land today, but the money owed back can be deferred. He ends up admitting that he basically was trying to do nothing to make money, but didn't want others to hoard in. It turns out that the highway is actually an information highway. Norton passed away at church and left in his will $400, which the lodge used to buy Red's property.
